IPL24: Salt , bowlers power KKR to massive win over LSG on Bengali New years day
The Kolkata Knight Riders, continuing with their mind blowing performance won the latest contest against the Lucknow Super Giants by a large margin of 8 wickets, when 26 balls were left and enthralled their fans on Bengali New Years Day at Eden Gardens. The Lucknow Super Giants were unable to charm the crowd as they scored 161 runs at the loss of 7 wickets.

Nicholas Pooran, the power hitter, who was unable to do much in the last contest was in his best form today. He scored 45 runs in 32 balls, by slamming 2 boundaries and 4 sixes. Today, he played with utmost patience and awareness to lead the team to this score! Krunal Pandya and Arshad Khan scored 7 and 5 runs respectively. Talking about KKR’s side, Mitchell Starc, the most expensive player who was bought for 24.75 Crore was impressive in today’s game. He took 3 wickets by giving away 28 runs in 4 overs. His performance was impeccable and restricted LSG to a low score. 4 other wickets were picked by 4 other bowlers. Narine in particular was extremely economical giving away only 17 runs in 4 overs
The Kolkata Knight Riders were excellent today, as they lost 2 wickets only and scored 162 runs, even when 26 balls were left. Phil Salt, the opener was excellent as he remained unbeaten with 89 runs in 47 balls with 14 boundaries and 3 sixes. Phil’s innings added salt to LSG’s injury as he was really fast and refused to settle for less. Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 7 runs only.
Shreyas Iyer, the skipper aided Phil, as he remained unbeaten after scoring 38 runs in 38 balls and slammed 6 boundaries! Talking about LSG’s bowling side, 2 wickets were picked by Mohsin Khan only and gave away 29 runs in 4 overs. No other bowler could take any wicket or do anything much!
